Morthens is a strict script display typreface. The brief was to find a type face and design another typeface based on that. I decided to use a script typeface called Vitrina by Pablo Medina. I used it because I liked the method he uses creating his typefaces. He takes picture of his urban surroundings and bases his typefaces on them.

I created a typeface based on the most prominent thing in my urban surrounding at the moment which is construcion sites. It has three "weights" called Ásbjörn, Þorlákur and Haukur.
